Did you know about these post Botox selfcare steps?

Botox for facial wrinkles is a comparatively non-invasive treatment with a very brief recovery period. The treatment itself is over in a few minutes, and you can go straight back to your normal activities. Having said that, there are a few things you should be aware of when having Botox.

When will Botox take effect?

The effects of Botox are not immediate. The appearance of fine lines will start to lessen over a few days, and the full effect will be visible in 2 to 3 weeks.

Is there a long recovery time after a Botox treatment?

Because you won’t need an anesthetic for Botox, you can go straight back to your day after a treatment. A Botox treatment should have no impact on your ability to drive or concentrate.

How long does the wrinkle-reducing effect of Botox last?

The effects of Botox last for about 3 to 4 months – but this can vary depending on the individual and the area being treated with Botox. You can have another treatment after 3 months.

What will I look like after a Botox appointment?

Some people get a bit of bruising after a Botox appointment, but it’s usually very minor. You can relieve it by holding a cold pack to your face. The effects of your Botox injections will only really show after a few days.

If you’re wondering when it’s safe to put your makeup back on after a Botox treatment, it’s usually once the injections have closed up, which is after 15 minutes.

Do I need to avoid any activities following my Botox treatment?

You should stay upright in the hours following your treatment – so don’t lie down to recover from Botox. Avoid rubbing the treatment site for three days following Botox – that includes massages and facial beauty treatments. Sunbathing, sunbeds and saunas should also be avoided immediately after Botox. And you may want to avoid strenuous activity for a few days after having Botox.

If you’ve just had Botox, you should not take a group of painkillers known as NSAIDs.

If you’re worried about your plans following Botox, ask your practitioner for specific advice about your situation. They can tell you whether you are okay to use a product or a service following Botox injections.

What should I do if I don’t like the effect?

If you are in any way dissatisfied with your Botox treatment, speak with your practitioner. They can help by offering reassurance and advising on aftercare. They can also take steps to adjust the effect of the Botox. Remember that Botox is not permanent and the effects will wear off in 3 to 4 months.

Does Botox have side effects?

Botox causes headaches in some people, and other people experience bruising.

If you experience difficulty breathing or swallowing after Botox, seek medical advice promptly.

How soon can I have Botox again?

You’ll need to wait three months between Botox treatments – but we’ll be here ready to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. Simply make an appointment at your convenience with Global Travel Clinics and we’ll do the rest.
