Getting ready for your non-surgical cosmetic Botox procedure

A non-surgical cosmetic procedure like Botox is a great way to boost your confidence by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines to rejuvenate your face for a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Information you can trust about Botox treatments

Before you make a Botox appointment, you can inform yourself about different treatment options and learn about best practice for Botox and other neuromodulators.

Botox Cosmetic is the commercial page for Botox. And The American Society of Plastic Surgeons also has some advice for people thinking about using Botox to improve their appearance.

Doing a bit of research before your appointment can help you make informed decisions about your non-surgical cosmetic procedure.

Questions to ask your Botox practitioner

When you come for Botox injections at our Katy Freeway Botox clinic, the prescriber and the practitioner will have some questions about your aims for the treatment. They will also ask some questions about your general health and medical history to ensure that Botox is right for you.

Your answers will help them to decide which parts of your face to treat with Botox and how many injections to give.

You can also ask them questions about the procedure and about your recovery, as well as assuring yourself that they are fully trained in the Botox injection procedure. And you can ask them to tell you what to expect during the treatment and after your Botox procedure, as well as any activities you’ll need to avoid immediately after Botox.

Is Botox permanent?

The effects of Botox will fade after 3 to 4 months, and you’ll need to have another treatment to freshen up your appearance and deal with fine lines or wrinkles on your face.

Before your Botox appointment

Simply turn up to your appointment for Botox at Global Travel Clinics and we will do the rest.

During your Botox treatment

Most people don’t need anesthesia for Botox, but some practitioners apply a numbing gel. Botox for wrinkles is administered with a very fine needle, and you may feel a slight pinch. The number of injections you will need depends on the site you are having treated and desired effect.

Can I get a Botox treatment during my lunch hour?

Once you’ve had your Botox consultation, your treatment will be very quick – just 10 or 15 minutes. Because you don’t need much time to recover from a Botox treatment, you could go straight back to work afterwards.

Your colleagues may not even notice that you’ve had a Botox treatment during your working day, as the visible effects of the Botox develop over time, with the full effect appearing within 2 to 3 weeks.

It’s best to avoid strenuous activity after a Botox treatment, but you should be able to carry on with your day straight after.
